E46 Phone Prewire harness installation
Phone prewire extension harness (center console on the left side of the fuselage, fig. 1) must be fitted to the E46 (328i 328iA) produces 6/98 in the first two weeks, if the phone is installed. Telephone option prewire, SA640 installed in the vehicles, which are produced in 6/98 in the first two weeks. E46's produced after the second week of 6/98 has this phone, prewire option SA640 is installed at the factory.
Install the harness on the left side of the center console frame on your phone:
1. remove the shifter indicator cover (automatic) or the boot (manual) and remove front fasteners (1).
2. remove the rear ashtray to use two rear brackets (2). Lift up the parking brake in the boot and lift the brake handle.
3. remove the center console (automatic JavaScript).
4. remove the center console for current phone "prewire" connector is available (1)
